“Be happy, just dance.”
That’s what my Dad said when I asked him for advice on life.
That’s what I’m going to do. Plug in my AirPods and get lost in the EDM trance.
My dad, if anyone remembers him, was kind, stern, yet gentle.
Growing up, there was a wall emotionally with him. I wasn’t friends with my father, and he never wanted me to be. He was my dad, and I needed to respect him.
In my twenties, I had looked after him because he was declining in health. But he was persistent, and he knew what he wanted. He never wanted pity or a handout.
I love the guy.
He is my hero because he also left Christianity, or at least the church, and sought to make his own life.
He had girlfriends, and I’m sure he enjoyed himself.
All that to say. My dad was a saint in my book, and I respect him. He was in his forties when he started to leave the church and spent his life chasing happiness through contra dancing.
He was a good man, and I want to follow his example.
He never ranted online about his feelings. Thought he didn’t like Trump, and he was vocal about that with me.
I wish I had joined him in the anger earlier, before he died.
Fuck Trump. :D
Anyway, I guess that's me today. I want to let my hair down and dance.
Life is too short to ruminate.
I disagree with people, and that’s okay.
I understand that it’s not okay to publicly defame somebody because we disagree.
I’m still learning. Even if I have a small audience. I should be wise with what I say and how I say it.
Keep dancing, happy Sunday!
