At 4, I was diagnosed with a phonological disorder. I was given a tonsillectomy and T-tubes because I was hard of hearing.
At 5, I was exposed to explicit material. I was enrolled in speech therapy.
At 8, I started hearing voices to kill myself.
At 10, I started viewing explicit material on the computer. I accepted Jesus into my heart and was baptized.
At 12, I graduated speech therapy.
At 15, I got punched in the face and walked away. I was preached about in a sermon by my pastor.
At 16, I went on my first mission trip to Mexico and made a declaration of purity to commit to Jesus. That year I experienced mania and depression.
At 17, I went on my second mission trip to Haiti. I came back and experienced psychosis. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Type 1 and was hospitalized for a month at Silver Hill Hospital. My Dad separated from my Mom and we lost our house to foreclosure.
At 18, I was accepted into Liberty University and I pursued Nursing. I stopped taking the medication.
At 20, I was kicked out and banned from Liberty University because I had a psychotic and manic episode.
At 22, I moved to North Carolina with two bags of clothes and a train ticket. I landed a job in security and sales as an Inside Sales Rep. I bought my first car. I rededicated my life to Christ and was baptized.
At 23, I landed my first SaaS job as a Business Development Rep. I was given $9,000 by a good friend to pay off my debt.
At 24, I landed my second SaaS job as a Business Development Rep.
At 25, I was given the title The Highest Achiever award and a $20,000 bonus. I paid off my debt.
At 26, I traveled to Japan for two weeks. I moved back to Connecticut.
At 27, I lost 100lbs
At 28, I had a psychotic episode and was hospitalized. I was assaulted a couple of times and lost a tooth.
At 30, I attempted suicide by taking a bottle of Lithium because of the voices. Rediagnosed as Schizoaffective.
At 33, I started my writing career on Substack and started Massage Therapy School.
I'm turning 34 on December 10th and, boy, it's been an interesting time to live. I’m so thankful to have experienced everything in my life. The mountain tops and the valleys. Everything is between.
By the grace of God, I have survived and thrived despite my condition. I wasn't sure how to share my hospitalizations, but I was hospitalized 17 or 18 times since I was 17.
