Parable of The Net
Matthew 13:47-50
Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.
When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore.
Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets but threw the bad away.
This is how it will be at the end of the age.
The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
I like this parable because what Jesus is saying is pretty straightforward.
Jesus is the fisherman pulling the net to shore.
He looks for the good fish and the bad ones.
He keeps the righteous and throws away the wicked.
Which fish will you be when he casts the net?
I have my own opinion on hell.
People will not be tormented for eternity for not choosing Him.
I don't see a God who is merciful and compassionate doing that to a soul.
However, it's evident in this parable that the wicked will be thrown into the furnace and will experience weeping and gnashing of the teeth.
I don't know how it will end for those who don't submit to Jesus in the end.
Yet, there is time to repent and be one of the good fish that Christ catches.
I have heard that coming to faith in Jesus is more than just fire insurance.
I came to Jesus because He completes me.
I am whole by submitting to His commands and creed for my life.
Jesus brings me peace and love that no other vice on this Earth brings me.
No amount of women, porn, food, success, or money will come close to fulfilling my heart as Jesus does.
He gives me rest, and that's why I follow Him.
When I was younger, I was filled with anxiety over the state of my soul.
I was consumed with porn and masturbation; it was all that I worshipped.
I pleaded with God to take this burden away from me.
To give me a new heart to follow Him and to worship Him.
By grace, He answered my prayer.
I no longer spend my time watching women on the internet.
He restored my sexuality, and I repented from this dark time in my life.
Jesus allows me to be content, and I no longer have to strive for things to fill my heart.
More importantly, He takes away the pain that consumes my soul.
I don't have to seek alcohol, nicotine, sex, or food to ease the pain.
That's why I follow Him.
He loves me, comforts me, and restores my soul.
Eternal life is a bonus.
I gladly submit my life to Him.
There is one thing in life that I yearn to seek.
That's wisdom.
God gives me abundant wisdom and discernment as I navigate this world.
As I live with a biological disorder, He restores my mind and gives me peace.
I will bet that nothing can compare to what Jesus offers.
As I progress in my writing, I hope to reflect the glory of God.
My life will impact those who suffer as I once did.
If you're reading this and wonder how Jesus can be your Savior.
I challenge you to request Jesus to show Himself to you.
If you ask, it will be given to you; if you seek, you will find; if you knock, the door will open.
There are two books of the Bible that I will suggest you read.
It won't take long.
The first book is the book of Proverbs, and the second is Ecclesiastes.
Proverbs instructs us on a path of wisdom to navigate this life, and the second book shows us that no matter how much we gain in this life, it is all a cloud of smoke.
I have read both of these books multiple times, and they have given me a lot to think about.
If you seek God, He will find you.
He will protect your soul and guide you.
